Pack for Life Campaign

What are your travel essentials? Over the past two years, mine have been the extra bags of school and living essentials I take to the new locations I visit. As a wedding planning business, we visit different renowned ‘destination wedding’ locations. As glamorous as these places can be, we noticed the same thing in every country visited. Just around the corner of every beautiful city are the less fancy settlements of the people who work day and night to cater to these cities. These communities are just as important as any other, but not cared for as much.

Within my close network, a few friends and I began packing extra luggage with supplies for the schools and orphanages in these communities. We simply take them along during our business and vacation visits. Our primary concerns for the past two years have been the children of these communities.

According to UNICEF, about 262 million children and youth worldwide are out of school. A lot of these kids are out of school because they cannot afford the basic school supplies they need.

We don’t need stats to realise this global crisis though. We see it in our home countries and the various foreign cities we visit. After a few trips, we were ready to do something about this issue. At first, we just took what we assumed they would need. Now, we reach out beforehand to these schools and orphanages. We find out their needs, and then we Pack For Life.

These trips allow us to make a lasting impact in the communities at our travel destinations. We may not be able to touch all 262 million lives, but we’ve seen the joy on the faces we’ve helped, and that shows that the effort is worth it.

Our next stop is Belize & Philippines, and we need your contribution. Many of the items these children need are lying around your house, or cost just a few pounds at your local stores.

Here are the needs on our current list.

I’m visiting a less developed country, can we work together?

Of course, our mission is to give back. The more people join in, the more children we can help.
